Terms & Conditions
BIGSMOKE HUB LTD — Last updated: 17th February 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of bigsmoke.app (the “Platform”) and your participation in tournaments or events organised by BIGSMOKE HUB LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By creating an account, booking a tournament place, accepting a free ticket, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
If you are a consumer (acting outside your trade/business), nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015).
2. Company Details & Contact
BIGSMOKE HUB LTD operates the Platform.
- Email: info@bigsmoke.app
- Address: 5 Brayford Square, London, United Kingdom, E1 0SG
3. Our Role
We operate an event platform and booking system and act as the organiser of tournaments and related events unless explicitly stated otherwise on the relevant event page.
A booking confirmation grants you a revocable licence to attend and participate in the specified tournament or event, subject to these Terms, any event-specific rules, and the venue’s rules.
4. Eligibility
To use the Platform and/or participate in events, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old (or have parental/guardian consent where applicable and permitted by the event)
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Comply with event rules, venue rules, and lawful instructions from staff
We reserve the right to verify eligibility and to refuse participation or access to the Platform where we reasonably believe eligibility requirements are not met.
5. Account Registration
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activity under your account
- Keeping your account information accurate and up to date
You must not misuse the Platform, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malware, or interfere with normal operation. We may suspend or terminate accounts where misuse, fraud, or abuse is suspected or where these Terms are breached.
6. Bookings & Confirmations
A booking is confirmed only when:
- Full payment has been received (where applicable), and
- You receive a booking confirmation from us (email and/or within your account).
Booking confirmations are issued for the named participant and are non-transferable unless we explicitly allow transfers for a specific event.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel bookings where necessary, including for capacity limits, suspected fraud, payment failure, or breach of these Terms.
7. Free Tickets
From time to time, we may issue free tickets or complimentary entries. Free tickets:
- Have no monetary value
- Are non-transferable
- May be withdrawn or cancelled at our discretion (for example, if issued in error or misuse is detected)
Where an event is changed or cancelled, free ticket holders are not entitled to compensation for personal costs (for example, travel or accommodation).
8. Payments
Payments may be made via Revolut or bank transfer directly to BIGSMOKE HUB LTD. We do not store payment card details.
Bookings are not confirmed until cleared funds are received. You are responsible for ensuring payment details are correct. We are not liable for delays caused by incorrect payment information.
9. Pricing
Prices are displayed in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated. We may update prices at any time, but price changes will not affect confirmed bookings.
10. Cancellations & Refunds (Event-Specific Policy)
Refunds and cancellations may vary by tournament. Any event-specific refund policy will be displayed on the event page and/or in booking communications (the “Event Refund Policy”). If an Event Refund Policy applies, it will override the default rules below for that event.
Important (UK consumers): Tickets/entries for leisure events on a specific date or within a specific period are generally exempt from the 14-day cancellation (“cooling-off”) right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
Default refund rules (if no Event Refund Policy is stated)
- Bookings are non-refundable except where required by law or where we state otherwise in the Event Refund Policy.
- If you cannot attend, no refund is guaranteed.
- We may, at our discretion, offer transfers to another date/event where practical.
If we cancel an event
If we cancel a tournament, we will offer one of the following (as communicated at the time):
- A refund of the ticket/entry price paid; or
- Store credit or transfer to a replacement event/date (if available and you agree).
Refunds do not include additional personal expenses (for example, travel or accommodation). Refund processing times may vary depending on your payment provider.
11. Event Changes
We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to events, including changes to schedules, formats, rules, venues, or dates. We will use reasonable efforts to notify participants of material changes.
12. Tournament Rules & Conduct
Participants must:
- Follow all published tournament rules and event-specific requirements
- Behave respectfully towards staff and other participants
- Comply with venue rules and safety instructions
We reserve the right to refuse entry, disqualify participants, or remove individuals from an event where necessary for safety, fairness, or compliance. Where permitted by law, no refund will be issued in cases of serious misconduct or rule violations.
13. Physical Events: Assumption of Risk & Participant Responsibility
Our events are physical in nature and may involve contact, exertion, or other activities that carry an inherent risk of injury, illness, loss, or damage.
By attending or participating, you confirm that:
- You participate voluntarily and at your own risk.
- You are medically and physically fit to participate and you will stop if you feel unwell or unsafe.
- You will follow safety instructions, venue rules, and reasonable directions from staff.
- You are responsible for your personal belongings.
Nothing in this section limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
14. No Resale or Unauthorised Transfer
Booking confirmations and free tickets may not be resold and may not be used for promotional or commercial purposes without our written permission.
We may cancel bookings or deny entry where a booking confirmation or free ticket has been transferred or used in breach of these Terms.
15. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including branding, logos, text, designs, and software, is owned by or licensed to BIGSMOKE HUB LTD. You may not copy, distribute, or exploit content without written permission, except as permitted by law.
16. Media & Photography
Events may be photographed or recorded. We may use event media for promotional purposes as described in our Privacy Policy. If you do not want to appear in close-up promotional content, please notify us before the event or speak to staff at the venue (we will take reasonable steps to accommodate this request).
This does not prevent incidental capture in crowd scenes where you are not the main subject.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
- Our total liability arising from any booking shall not exceed the amount paid for that booking.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
18. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including (without limitation) government restrictions, venue unavailability, natural disasters, public health emergencies, strikes, or failures of third-party services.
19. Data Protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy: /privacy.
20. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform and/or participation in events if you breach these Terms, misuse the Platform, or where necessary for safety, security, or legal compliance. You may stop using the Platform at any time.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on the Platform. Changes will apply from the date they are posted, except that changes affecting existing bookings will not apply retrospectively unless required by law.
22. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
